Flight Lessons
These pages contain the basic flight instruction for taxi, take-off, climb, cruise,
descent and landing of the Cessna 182S/RG. Use this as the basis for your study of how to
fly the airplane.
Your "sim" test will consist of the following "standards."
- Safely start the engine.
- Taxi for take off to the directed runway.
- Execute a "normal" take off.
- Climb to the directed altitude not to exceed + or - 200 ft.
- Fly a designated heading, not to exceed + or - 15 degrees.
- Fly a designated airspeed + or - 15 knots.
- Descend to a prescribed altitude at a controlled rate of decent (500 ft/min).
- Enter the circuit using an approved procedure.
- Execute a safe landing and braking.
- Taxi and execute a safe shutdown.
You must also demonstrate the following maneuvers:
- Slow flight, or flight at minimum controllable airspeed.
- Stall recovery.
- Steep turns.
- Forced landings.

You must accomplish the following flight lessons to prepare for your evaluation. These
lessons are part of MS Flight Simulator program, they can be accessed through the file
menu: If you have the option of watching the instructor to start out a lesson, do so.

All lessons must be logged on your lesson package and handed in on the day of your
flight test.
