The autoslalom has held Sunday afternoon at Western Speedway. We caught up with a couple of Corvairs  cruising out Douglas Street.

Before you can race, you have to remove all the junk out of your car, jack up the tire pressures, and remove the hubcaps.

Then as usual, it's hurry up and wait.

Dave Beddome drove his beautiful 140+ powered 68' Monza all the way from Calgary, cleaned up at the Show and Shine, flogged the daylights out of his car in the slalom, then drove home to Calgary. The paint on that car was beautiful, by the way!

Mark Reed drove well in his 110 powered race 68 Monza. His roll bar and racing seat setup looked superb.

   

   

  

    

Bernie Pringle and company win the "Most runs done in a single car" award.

   

   

   

I didn't catch his name, but he made a good showing in his 1964 Spyder Convertible. It was sure nice to see an early out there, because as we all know, they're totally unsafe and flip over as soon as you drive them fast. I think you proved them wrong.

   

       

   

   

   

Well done guys! It was sure great to see Corvairs out on Western Speedway again!

Oh Yeah, There were other neat cars there too.
